Bush Picks General to Head CIA

On Monday, President Bush nominated Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden to be the new CIA chief. If the nomination is confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, Gen. Michael Hayden will succeed Porter Goss who resigned under pressure last Friday. "Mike knows our intelligence community from the ground up. He has been both a provider and a consumer of intelligence. He's overseen the development of both human and technological intelligence. He has demonstrated an ability to adapt our intelligence services to the new challenges in the war on terror," Bush said during an Oval Office announcement. Read full story
